Adding Sections
To insert a new section:
- Open your document in eaDocX
- Place the cursor in the Word document where you want the new section to appear.
Remember that there is hidden text in the document, where other sections are defined, so it’s a good idea to make all this hidden text visible for a moment, using the ‘View’ in eaDocX, and choose ‘Show Markup’ - If you accidentally put the cursor inside another section, eaDocX will warn you about this, and won’t create an impossible section. Just move your cursor somewhere outside of any section.
- Now you have specified where the section will go, you can choose what to add. Do this by either:
- In the EA Project Browser, find the package, element or diagram to want to add, and choose
Package Section
A Package Section documents the contents of an EA package. It follows the order of the EA package structure and automatically allocates headings to match. The formatting of all elements is that specified in the Element Profile.
Report Section
Instead of adding an EA package to a section, you can also define an eaDocX Report to be inserted at that point
Report types are:
- Element Report
- Matrix Report
- Gap Matrix
There are a number of other types of section you can add. These add a variety of project and document data.
