eaDocX frequently asked questions
These are some frequently asked questions for EA document creation using eaDocX.
Where have my Word ribbons and menus gone?
In eaDocX V6 we decided to minimize the Word ribbon bar by default, each time you create a new document. We did this because most users, when they generate an eaDocX document from Word don’t want to edit that document, so the Word menus are not usually useful. And they make the user interface more complicated.
You can restore the word menu ribbon by either clicking the icon
..in Word, or in the eaDocX menu for the document, choose View / Show/Hide Word ribbon
Why don’t Notes print in eaDocX documents?
Notes are not an EA element. They can be added to diagrams but do not appear in the Project browser. As they aren’t ‘first class’ EA elements, the only way to print them in your document is to print the diagram on which they appear.
Does EA repository structure affect document template creation?
Not necessarily.
Yes, you can structure your document based on the package structure of the repository. That is what an eaDocX Quick document uses. But you can just as easily use the contents of a diagram, or connectors, or an element report, or the results of an EA search, or a Matrix report, or any combination of these to structure your document.
So there is no need to change the structure of your repository to create multiple documents with different structures, tailored to the requirements of each of your different stakeholders. Read More.
