I am using eaDocX 3.2.8.1. I was trying to document a DataType and Component elements, in which I had defined some attributes.
Documentation states under “Printing Element Details” that Operations and Attributes can be printed, but also that it is “Only available for Classes, Components and a few other elements.”
However, attributes are not available for DataType, nor for Component… Even though in the former case it seems logical, and in the latter case it is stated as available in the documentation.
Is there another way to document this?
I’ve just checked, and you’re right (but you knew that..). Seems that, with a little fiddling, EA will let you put attributes and operations on almost ANY element!
Looks like I’ll have the relax the eaDocX meta-model even more. I’ll update this post when I’ve added the fix.
Well spotted!
Thanks
ian
Update which fixes this is now available on the website as 3.2.8.6.
I have added Attributes & operations to Components & Interfaces (EA allows attributes on Interfaces???) and attributes on Data types.
