Hi,
We need to run LicenseServiceApp as a system service to manage floating licenses.
We’ve followed the installation instructions, as per the website (https://store.eadocx.com/help/index.html?floating_licence.htm), but starting the service results in the following error:
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly ‘LicenseServiceApp, Version=8.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=4a3c0a4c668b48b4’ or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Can you please advise what dependency is missing?
This service is installed on Windows Server 2012 R2.
Thanks.
Also, the LicenseServiceApp.exe only works if we manually launch it using “Run as administrator…”
Does this imply that it’s a UAC issue rather than a dependency issue?
As far as we know, the LSA does NOT run as a Windows service, as stated in the instructions (which we copied from the documentation for the Crypto framework which we use).
We will correct our documentation
Hi,
We have the same problem, but with Windows Server 2016.
Are there any news or solutions for this problem? I couldn’t find anything about it.
What is your recommendation?
Thanks!
The olny solution here is to covert your floating licences to Group Licences. We are happy to help you to do this.
We have asked our Crypto provider about this, and they can’t fix it.
