    Hi,

    is it possible to generate a table of components within a certain package and its sub-packages?

    Suppose a package ‘Software Catalog’ contains several packages like ‘HMI components’ and ‘Middleware’, which may contain further sub-packages and in the last level there are components like ‘Storage Manager’, ‘kernel’, ‘Input Manager’, whatever.

    The generated document section shall now contain a single table listing all the existing components (and their description, the containing parent package and probably some Tagged Values) within the package ‘Software Catalog’ and all its sub- and sub-sub-packages. What is the best approach to do it, or is it only possible with some scripting magic?

    Quite simple – add an eaDocX Element Report, using the top-level package as the source.
    It will collect all the elements of the type/stereotype you need, and even print in a different way from other parts of the document.

    Hi,

    thank you very much for your response. It does almost exactly what I need!
    The only problem I have is, that the components are not listed alphabetically, even though I selected the option “sort the rows in this table” for the component name column (see attachment).

    I am using eaDocX v3.9.5.0, EA corporate edition 12.0.1215 and Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus 2016.
    Do I miss something?
