Home › Forums › eaDocX queries › Odd spacing for eaXL exports
Hi,
We recently exported a spreadsheet with a list of requirement links from eaXL but the completed export contains an odd issue that only occurs for requirements that have several links. As each unique link is separated by a line break, there seems to be a phantom space (you are able to select this space but it appears almost invisible with a width of 0) right before each line break. This issue is currently preventing us from using the text to column feature in Excel as the function is only picking up the first unique link and not the subsequent ones.
An example is provided in the string below:
“Link 1,[space][phantom space]
Link 2,[space][phantom space]
Link 3″
If anyone has a suggested fix for this please let us know. Thanks!
Hi Dina,
(i think this problem has my name on it…)
It looks like eaDocX inserts a comma, then a space, then a CRLF character between the elements: makes it look sensible when put into a Word doc.
CRLF = ASCII chr(13) & chr(10), so a find/replace on this character sequence should fix it.
Just tried out this solution and it worked perfectly. Thank you very much!
