eaDocX Document Sections
eaDocX works by generating EA content into a Word document.
This might be a new one, or one you already have, and need to add EA information into.
eaDocX does this by creating ‘Sections’ (not the same as a Word section) within your document. Inside and eaDocX section, ALL the content is generaed from EA. Each time you re-generate the document, ALL the content inside the eaDocX Section is deleted, and new content generated.
In between the section you can have your own, hand-written content. So you can make a document from 100% eaDocX generated content, a mixture of hand-written and generated, or mostly hand-written with just a signel eadocX Section, perhps with just a single diagram. You choose what you need. (lots of our user start with an existing document, 100% hand-written, then gradually move information into EA, adding new sections as they go, until they are near to 100% generated).
To a reader of the document, all this is invisible. The start and end of an eaDocX Section are made from two bookmarks and some invisible text, so a reader can’t tell where the genrated content ends and the hand-written starts.
If you need to see this, just choose the ‘Show Markup’ option from the eaDocX / view menu in a document.
You’ll see something like:
Some of my hand-written content Some more [Section: Info¶] (generated from EA) [End¶] More hand written |
The pink text is in Word ‘hidden text’ style, so doesn’t get seen by the reader.
What the reader sees is:
Some of my hand-written content Some more  (generated from EA) More hand written |
