Inserting fields and values
When you are adding data to a tale, or to the Inline formatting for an element type, there is large range of EA information which you can add. These are found on the ‘Insert’ menu in the Profile page.
You can insert:
Fields of this element type
- Common fields, like name and stereotype
- Fields specific to this type of element (may not be any)
- Tagged values for this element type. Note this will be a list from all across your repository, not just for the elements in this document
- Sub-elements, like ‘children’ or ‘methods’
- Summary fields. These are lists of sub-elements, for example, a list of attributes of a class, a list of pre-conditions for a use case. These are useful if you don’t have space for lots of detail.
- Project fields. These are the fields for an element which EA puts at the bottom of the Properties summary, like phase, Complexity and language.
Data about related elements
eaDocX also makes it easy to add data about related elements. These can be other elements which are connector via a single connect, or connected via other elements: “multi-hop connection”, or via Derived Connectors.
