New eaDocX Function
User Interface | The main eaDocX UI has been comprehensively updated. |
Backwards compatibility | Our aim is that eaDocX V6 is 100% backwards compatible with eaDocX V5. If you know different, please contact support@eadocx.com. Issues in this category will have the highest development priority. |
Enhanced Auto-templates function | Now it’s much easier to use one document as the basis for another. See Auto-templates and Auto-templates example |
Functions in eaDocX v5 but not in V6
Not all function from eaDocX V5 has been re-implemented in V6.
Function | Explanation |
Diagram Filters | Planned for next release |
Scripted formatting | Planned for next release |
Printing of project data, such as Project Issues, Project risks etc | No plan to re-implement. If this is a problem for you, please contact support@eadocx.com |
Embedding of Excel spreadsheets in documents | No plan to re-implement. If this is a problem for you, please contact support@eadocx.com |
Embedding of Excel charts in documents | EA charting function has improved, so less requirement for a dedicated charting mechanism |
HTML Generator | Planned for next release |
Functions in eaXL (eaDocX v5) but not in eaSheets
Function | Explanation |
Editing of element features (linking of an attribute of a class to another attribute, method or element) | EA support for this is now much better (in EA V16+) so no need for a specialized editor |
Charts | EA charting function is now enough for most simple reports, so no need to re-implement all that in eaSheets |
