Carriage return inserted in description (notes)

Hi there,

We are using EA version 12.1, eaDocX version 3.9.0.1 and Excel 2013.

When we load description (notes) fields into EA using EaDoxXL, an extra carriage return is inserted at the end of every notes field. For various reasons we have been unloading and reloading these description fields quite a bit. We now have 5 or 6 extra carriage returns at the end of every description field, which is making the reports pretty spacey.

This only happens in the notes field, not in any other field that we’ve noticed. Is there a work around so that these extra lines aren’t inserted when reloading the notes?

Hi Dina,
I have found and can reproduce this error.
As it’s in one of the Excel methods which deals with Unicode characters (Dark Magic) i’ve had to send it on to Adrian, the Excel genius, otherwise I’ll just make a dogs breakfast of it.
Should have a fix very soon. I’ll also try to make it a ‘repairing’ fix, so that LF chars which have already been added get removed.
