Home › Forums › eaDocX queries › eaXL : order of a class attributes
Hi,
We sometimes need to maintain the order of attributes within a class (manual order), e.g.
Class
attrA
attrB
attr1
attr2
attr3
attr4
However when I start exporting to Excel and adding attributes or update existing one, I see some odd results when importing back into EA.
I also sometimes noticed a difference between the order of the attributes displayed in the Project Browser, and the order displayed in the class details.
Is there a fix needed in eaDocX to maintain the order of attributes as within EA, and add new attributes at the end of the list?
Thanks
Guillaume
Could eaXL attribute import/export include “Pos” column (t_attribute) in the selection of columns?
This seems an easy way so that users could easily apply the right value on the Position column and preserve the sorting order from Excel when importing into EA.
thanks
I would second that. It’s not so easy to see TPos for just the set of things you’re interested in using Access, so it would be a very useful feature to adjust TPos in Excel within a package structure. Can’t think why I didn’t already ask!

Well, as you are all so enthusiastic about this, I will add it to the feature list for the next release (probably 3.6)
Great news, I’m looking forward to it.
When do you think 3.6 will be released this year?
Later. But soon.
Hi,
Has this enhancement been dealt with in the current 3.6 version?
thanks
I think so.
