Extracting tagged values

Hi

I have a need to include tagged values which have multiple lines. One example of this is to include a “Stakeholders” tagged value for Use Cases. EA doesn’t allow multiple lines for tagged values, but there appears to be two options to deal with this:

1. EA allows you to add multiple tagged values with the same name to an element. So we could add a Stakeholder tagged value and add this multiple times to cater for multiple stakeholders. However, eaDocX only seems to extract one tagged value and ignores the rest.
2. EA allows you to add a note to a tagged value, which can span multiple lines. An option here could be to just use the note to contain datails of stakeholders. However, eaDocX appears to ignore the tagged value notes field.

Is it possible to configure eaDocX so that it includes these details?

Have you tried giving the TV a type of ‘memo’ ? I think this means it can then have multiple lines.
As for EA allowing multiple TVs with the same name, eaDocX assumes this was just and act of madness of EA’s part, and ignores duplicates.
And on a totally separate note, I would never add a TV which had the stakeholder name: I’d always add a connection to a stakeholder element. Then there are loads more tunes you can play. Just a thought.

That’s great, I’d completely forgotten about being able to assign types to TVs, that will solve our immediate problem.

Also, thanks for your thoughts on how to handle stakeholders, that’s a really good point you make. Lot’s to think about there 🙂
