Hi
I have EADocx version 3.9.5.7 on Windows 10 with Office 2016.
I cant create a new document or open any documents I already have.
The message is this:-

The trace while opening this new word doc is this:-

This means that eaDocX can’t find the Word Interop DLL which it expects to find in your installation of Office.
Try a repair/re-install (not a full-reinstall) of Word – this sometimes gets the office DLLs correctly setup.
Hi
I repaired Office but no change. I did a search for the dll and it is not present.
I noticed that Windows claims my Office Version is Microsoft Office 365 Pro Plus but the program is Word 2016. Does this have any bearing on the issue?
Bob
P.S. Why does the EADocX Installation Validation say both the low level and high level interfaces are OK and open a word doc but the real program cannot?
which eaDocX version are you using? In the very latest version (3.9.5.7) I skipped this piece of code. So please download the latest version, and try that.
The installation tester exercises the main Word interfaces which eaDocX uses, but doesn’t try them all – there are just too many.
I am running 3.9.5.7.
I re-downloaded anyway and repaired my installation.
No change still get the same error.
Bob
Has eaDocX run on this machine before? If so, what changed?
I upgraded:-
from Windows 7 to Windows 10
from Office 2013 to Office 2016 (although it claims to be Microsoft Office 365 Pro-Plus)
and upgraded EaDOCX to 3.9.5.7 from 3.7.3.0.
Now it doesn’t work and I can’t eve open any document I created in it within EADocX.
Outside they open fine.
Bob
Any comments on this?
This is some feedback from another user, who also had problems after upgrading:
What worked was:
* uninstall all Office software (all versions)
* delete normal.dotm template to be sure it was clean
* clean the GAC of Office assemblies
* run registry cleaner in case of remaining cruft
* install VS Tools for Office 2010

Completed the suggested steps as above.
All works great now.
Thanks for the help.
