I now have a nice set of Word styles that I intend to use for all architecture outputs. The outputs have the correct styles applied as per the options setting (except Heading 5 (see separate post), but the sizes of headings seem to be predetermined, and always ignore the size specified in the Word style. The following sizes are output, which are quite different from the sizes in my styles:
Heading 1 – 24pt
Heading 2 – 18pt
Heading 3 – 13.5pt
Heading 4 – 11pt
Heading 5 – 10pt
Heading 6 – 7pt
Is this a bug, something I’m doing wrong, or an insurmountable feature of Word?
Heather
How does this manifest itself?
I’ve just tried changing the definition of my H1 in Word, then re-generated the document, and the new style was used. Closed & re-opened the document, and re-generated again, and it still used the new style.
What are you doing exactly ?
I’ve set up a bunch of styles in my eaDocX Word 2007 document called CLAS_Heading_1, CLAS_Heading_2 …(see attached document – for styles only). Font sizes are:
CLAS_Heading_1 – 16pt
CLAS_Heading_2 – 14pt
CLAS_Heading_3 – 12pt
CLAS_Heading_4 – 11pt
CLAS_Heading_5 – 10pt
CLAS_Heading_6 – 10pt
In EA10. I use Tools, Options and Settings, inline text settings to select CLAS_Heading_1 for Heading 1 style, CLAS_Heading_2 for Heading 2 style etc..
I generate my document using the draft option (because of the SystemAccessViolationException bug I reported in June #979). Perhaps the sizes would have been corrected in the final pass that doesn’t occur working in draft mode?
Cheers,
Heather
