We gets lots of forum requests which are quite brief.
For example, “I’m doing X, and Y doesn’t work’.
For questions like these, we always have the same initial response: “tell us some more, and we’ll try to help”.
So here are some things we ALWAYS need to know:
1. What version of eaDocX.
If this is anything other than the latest version we will ALWAYS ask you to install the latest version, and check that the issue is still there. That’s because (a) the error may already have been fixed in a newer version and (b) if we do need to fix it, it will be based on the latest version, not your older one.
So save your self some time, and download the latest eaDocX version
2. What version of Office
This isn’t often a problem, but remember that eaDocX uses the Word and Excel APIs which are only present in the full desktop install of Office: Office365 or click-to-run versions of office won’t work. Ever.
3. What version of EA
Again, not often a factor, but as we started using eaDocX with EA V8, we’ve seen a lot of changes to EA, and it’s occasionally important.
So please, include this information with your query otherwise you have zero chance of getting it answered.
