I’ve recently started outputting documents with an extra heading level. Wherever the preview shows level 5 headings (for the profile entries of an element with a level 4 heading), the output consistently uses the style defined for level 6.
As I’m not using level 6 I can work around this with postprocessing, but it seems like a pure bug that should be corrected.
Heather
Just tried to reproduce this, with no luck. I still get the correct formatting at all the levels. (Heading levels 7,8,9 are different, because these aren’t defined by HTML, so some settings changes are needed, but the rest seems fine)
Can you mail me a document (and the doc template you based the document on) so I can try to reproduce it ?
I think I’ve found the source of this, though it still doesn’t make much sense to me.
1a. If I output the children of an element using the sub-elements menu each child is correctly assigned the next heading level.
1b. If I add a title to the Children instruction, each child is correctly pushed another level down
2a. If I output the children of an element as a RelationshipElement (with no “title”), each child is assigned the heading level 2 levels down – as in 1b
For the current document I have replaced the 2a approach with 1a. But for some documents I need to output children of specific types, so must use the 2a approach. As for my previous posting I have been working in draft mode.
Unfortunately my examples have confidential content. I would need to recreate something representative. Can you let me know if these clues are sufficient, or if I should devote effort to recreating the problem?
Thanks,
Heather
Heather,
This should be enough for me to have a look at.
This still seems to be an issue, when will this be fixed?
Thanks,
David
This is in the development backlog for v3.4, #165. Plan is to release it in a Beta in Jan/Feb 2014.
This has been fixed in eDocX 3.4 – please see website to check when the Beta is available
The current webpage does not display a Beta version as an option and is ONLY showing version 3.3 for download.
I purchased this 3 months ago, ran into this “bug” and it has been sitting waiting for a fix. This is really a critical feature of the software and it prevents the software from working as advertised.
It’s nice to let us know it is fixed in 3.4 (beta?) but the to NOT have access to it when you make the post is rather unsatisfying… understand?
