We use linked documents as extensions to the element description, to support users who want to include graphics or tables. These can be output into table cells with the Sparx RTF generator, but eaDocX only allows them to be output inline (won’t even allow them to be used in an inline table).
Suggestion is that linked document be allowed as attributes in table formats (user beware of weird formatting that may result).
Good (ish) idea. I fear for the un-prepared user completely messing-up their document with unpredictable Linked Document contents, but I will investigate for the next release. (this will be much later in the year, as I’m just feature-complete with 3.5)
While you are considering this for the next release, I also just noticed that I can’t access a linked document as a property of a related element, even though it is not in a table. Could you please add that in at the same time – thanks.
