Hi.
I know this might be a very special question, but maybe somebody had similar needs and solved the following topic.
I want to add a special character in a requirement element e.g. the greek character phi (φ) for the angle in a technical requirement. Adding it via the Windows “character map” I see “gorgeously formatted” every special character in the requirement notes input field, but after EA synchronized it with its database it was converted to the sober letter “f”.
Actually it might be an EA issue, but maybe there is a way to store it with some escaping format so that eaDocX can print it nicely into the documents?
Thx.
I guess the first thing to get working is making EA store your characters.
It MAY help to follow the instructions in the EA Help, and enable Unicode characters, by using the JET 4.0 engine (EA, Tools, Options, General).
Once you can store the character in EA, then eaDocX has a chance of printing it.
We do support Unicode characters, as many european languages have non-ascii character sets (Polish, Hungarian, Slovenian etc), and eaDocX works fine with those languages.
So, get EA to work first, then see if eaDocX is happy.
Thanks for the advice! Quoting EA’s instruction:
“If your .EAP project is not in a Jet 4.0 database, you should also download a copy of the Jet 4.0 EABase model from the Sparx Systems website, and do an EAP to EAP transfer of your model into the Jet 4.0 file.”
So after transfering the EAP and enabling the JET4.0 usage in EA everything worked fine with EA and of course with eaDocX!
