eadocX SupportParticipant
I just re-ran the test, and it checks-out in v3.9.3.8.
Steps I took were:
1. Create the gap matrix in EA (V13)
2. add some text to the cells
3. save the profile with
4. add ‘gap matrix’ section to eaDocX
5. choose theprofile to print
6. Seems to look okIs this what you did ?
BTW – Like most people, I think this EA feature is rubbish: to get a ‘gap’ I seem to have to replicate all the elements in my architecture.
If you could have your idea solution to this, what would it look like? I ask because we’re exploring how this might be implemented better in Prolaborate.eadocX SupportParticipantI’m not sure where this issue came from – I blame sloppy programming.
i THINK I’ve fixed it in 3.9.3.8, now on the website.
I’m having a serious look at this for V4, which should make all this MUCH simpler. And te code much smaller as well.eadocX SupportParticipantIs this for a document which was designed in an older eaDocX version?
I’ve just tried to create a new document with that option, and it seems ok, so I’m guessing this is a backwards-compatibility issue.
If so, can you save the Profile XML, and send it to me, and say which diagram isn’t printing correctly. I can then create a test case like your, and see what’s going on.eadocX SupportParticipantI think I may have an answer for this.
It looks like in the last build of Model Expert I forgot to include that Crypto DLL in the installer: the reason we didn’t see it before is maybe because most other customers already use eaDocX: do you have eaDocX?
If not, then please download and install the eaDocX Trial – this will install the relevant Crypto bits on your machine, until I can get out a new installer.
Sorry for the bother.
IaneadocX SupportParticipantThis is a known issue with the eaDocX Licence Server Application: when maintenance is applied to the operating system – we don’t know what maintenance – then it just stops working.
If you could find out what maintenance was applied to it, that would be helpful.
There is no fix for this – the vendor from whom we buy the crypto can’t figure out the problem, so we have no chance.
So, we are gradually phasing-out Floating licences in favour of company-wide licences – I will get one of the team to send you details, and some temporary keys to keep you moving.
Sorry- this has been our #1 issue for several months, and we have had no success in finding an answer.
One of the team will be in contact with you very shortlyeadocX SupportParticipantIt’s not the *intended* behavior, but it’s all that Sparx allows.
The only way eaDocX can get a diagram is to open it in EA, then get a copy of it into the clipboard. There’s no API which tells us what diagrams are already opened, so we open a new one each time. The polite thing is then to close it, as otherwise you’d have 10s of diagrams.
Sorry- nothing we can do…eadocX SupportParticipantBut you can get rid of all the ‘null’ entries by making it a ‘Compact Document’ (document-level setting). This omits anything which has no value.
Have you tried that ?eadocX SupportParticipantThe only way to stops this happening is to have a single profile for ‘Requirement’ elements.
What’s happening is that eaDocX groups together similar-formatted elements and prints them together. This usually looks neater. Especially hen they are printed in tables. I agree that when printing inline, it’s maybe redundant, but i’m sure there’s a reason why I left in the grouping idea for inline as well.
So, if you can, delete the formatting for the stereotypes, and all will be well. The EA sequence will be respected (remember, you may have to do the up/down trick to make sure EA saves the ordering sequence).eadocX SupportParticipantSorry – eaDocX can’t really help you with that.
You only chance might be with an eaDocX script, but that involves programming 🙁- This reply was modified 7 years, 9 months ago by eadocX Support.
eadocX SupportParticipantThere is an eaDocX feature called Auto Templates, which does some of what I think you want. Have a look in the help. It’s probably not as sophisticated as what you need, but it might get you part-way there.
eadocX SupportParticipantInteresting.
This was one of the early requirements for Model Expert, but the customer who requested it decided to do things another way.
Would this make you buy lots of MX licences? 🙂eadocX SupportParticipantOK – found the bit of code which said ‘nobody will ever want to do this’ and added what you need!
Now on website as 3.9.3.5eadocX SupportParticipantAhHa – I think i get it now. When I create a Favorite with just a single diagram, then it doesn’t print.
This wasn’t a test case I thought would happen – a favorite with one diagram is equivalent to having a section with the diagram in it. But I’ll have a look anyway, just for completeness.eadocX SupportParticipantI’ve just re-tested this, and it all seems fine, so we must be doing different things.
Here’s what I did:
1. Opened a new Word document in eaDocX
2. Created some Model Views with a ‘favorites’ folder, and added some content into it
I have two Favorites folders, each with a bit of content drag/dropped from EA3. Added some sections to my document, using the Model Views
– one using the ‘all’ option to use all the favorites
– the other using just one of the favorites folders
4. Generated
(I note that in the eaDocX Preview pane, when I selected ‘all’ favorites, the preview doesn’t expand nicely to show me what is in the favorites folders, but it does if I choose a single favorite (my version is 3.9.3.4 – note to self to fix)
5. Some stuff appeared, but lots of things didn’t have a Profile. So, for example, Packages didn’t print their diagrams, so I changed the Profile for Package
6. It all looks fine – all aspects of the Profile got used, including conditional formatting. So what exactly did you do ?
eadocX SupportParticipantPlease can you try to replicate with the latest version.
