This means that the installation didn’t work, because Model Expert can’t find the Crypto sub-system. This should have been installed when you installed Model Expert.
I suggest you de-install MX, clean-up your registry if you are will & able, and re-install MX.

I’ve had a really long look into this again, and I think there is a problem with the HTML interface into Word, which is what eaDocX uses to insert content in Word.
Sometimes i can get it to work as you require, then i change something in Word, and it reverts back. Then I can’t get the original config to work, then it starts to work again.
I think this another case of the Word API behaving badly – eaDocX has several work-arounds which fix these, but only when there is a clear pattern of behavior.

    Here, there isn’t.

I’ve looked into this before, and didn’t reach a conclusion then, except to attempt a crude work-around.

There is a ‘vertical alignment’ setting in eaDocX which we DO send to Word (even when you have already said ‘use this Word table style’ (which also contains a vertical alignment setting)) and Word seems to take notice of this: but there is an interference effect: sometime it uses the eaDocX setting, sometimes the one which you specify in the Word table style. And then it changes back. That’s the snag.

So i’m afraid we’re drawing a blank on this one. What you have is our best shot at fixing the problem.
    🙁

Both eaDocX and Model Expert have a non-admin installer option – did you try this ?

    Hi Jon,
We’ve never seen any issues with the Model Expert installer before. If you’re having to resort to tweaking the registry, then all bets are off – there’s no way you should need to do that.
If think perhaps looking to your security policies might be the way forward.

    Hi Mark,
Linked documents are a problem for eaDocX. We just never know what we’re going to find in them, so, when they get put into Word, the results are unpredictable. When we first implemented the feature, I think I got some of the heading numbering to work OK, bu I never tried diagram- or table-numbering.
If people have rich content as you’re describing , then I advise (2): it’s just an image, and it’s hard to mess that up.
An alternative (3) might be to put the stuff into Excel – tables or graphics – and embed the Excel content, but that doesn’t work well if lots of requirements have the same content.

This can happen when your computer is using a >100% text size. I get this when I use MX on my Surface Pro.
We have no plan to fix this, as it means totally re-writing the UI – unless you know a quick way.

Ah – I think I’m starting to get it.
In the drop-down list of available TVs, there are only the list of TVs of the source, not the target.
    Who writes this rubbish??
    I am investigating..

OK – you lost me a bit there, but I think I get the idea.
Basically, eaDocX just reads the value from the EA API – get an element, look for a TV of the right name, read the value. All this dark magic means it’s all going to be a case of ‘suck it and see’ i’m afraid

    Ah – enlightenment.
You’ve been using a bit of EA which I’ve never seen before. So not surprising that eaDocX doesn’t understand it either.
Somehow you’ve managed to create a really exotic TV: its taggedValue.notes in the database is:
    12
…but it also has a non-blank value of ‘taggedvalue.value’: usually, here means ‘there are some notes’ but here you have a value AND some Notes.
    Weird.
…which is new function to me.
So, eaDocX just doesn’t print this kind of structured notes fields in TVs.

OK – found it – there was a problem with PostgreSQL – again – but not where I expected.
I think this is now fixed in 3.9.3.3, now available on the website.

    Hmmmm. Interesting.
That’s not what I expected to see in the trace: if it’s a PostGreSQL problem, there should be an entry there.
I will try to re-create our PostGreSQL test environment (we don’t routinely test for PostGreSQL as we only have 2 customers out of 2000+) and see if I can reproduce the error.

    3.3!!
That was quite a while ago.
I think this got fixed in 3.8. So if you’re still in support, you can download the newer version and try that.
