Ok – fixed in version 3.9.2.3, now on the website.
eadocX SupportParticipantJust a minute – I’ve just discovered how to add new lines to a scenario step! Cntl-enter!
I’ve been using EA for 15 years, and never seen that before!
Looking at it now.eadocX SupportParticipantOK – thanks
Can you send an XMI of some of your use cases to support@eadocx.com, and I will try to reproduce the issue.
ThankseadocX SupportParticipantso please can you install the latest verison, and re-test
eadocX SupportParticipanteadocX SupportParticipantI’ve re-checked this with eaDocX 3.9.2.2 and EA V13 build 1308, and it seems to be OK.
Please note that when you upgrade EA, EA loses all the eaDocX settings (such as ‘where to find Word templates’) as well as the eaDocX product key. Sorry, but this is out of our control: Sparx just create a new user.xml file in a new directory, with an un-predictable name.
Have you upgraded Word recently? I changed from Word 2013 to 2016, and ALL my templates which I saved in AppSettings disappeared: only the ones in user/documents/Custom Office Templates stayed.eadocX SupportParticipantJust so I understand correctly…
The two elements in your diagram each have composite diagrams. So what exactly would you like to print? eaDocX can already print the composite diagrams for an element, but I think you are looking for more than that.eadocX SupportParticipantSome tiny steps forward with this….
It seems that the SQL which EA is happy to run via the Model Search mechanism does not always run successfully when used via the Repository.SQLSearch API. I don’t this has changed from v12 to V13 of EA, or across eaDocX versions (since this feature was introduced way back..)For example:
EA Model Search is happy with:
select t_object.Name as ‘The NAME’
from t_object where t_object.Stereotype = ‘1’
But when submitted via Repository.SQLSearch, it throws an error – the one you are seeing. It seems that the ‘AS’ clause needs to be followed by a simple string, with no quotes.
So this seems to be acceptable to both:select t_object.Name as The_Name
from t_object where t_object.Stereotype = ‘1’I think this is the root of your troubles.
I recall a conversation with one of the Sparx development team to the effect that SQL which is submitted via Repository.SQLSearch has all kinds of strange things done to it before it’s really sent to the database: mapping of element types using MDGs for example. So I’m guessing that something is going wrong in here somewhere.I can confirm that the use of SQl Searches to populate eaDocX Element Reports DOES work – it’s just that the Sparx API is sensitive to the structure of that SQL.
eadocX SupportParticipant…and as soon as I can clone myself it will!
eadocX SupportParticipantI have not yet checked is this issue has been resolved by EA13. My expectation is not…:-(
eadocX SupportParticipantYes 🙂
I have just downloaded the first Production release of EA 13 (build 1306) and everything looks fine with eaDocX and Model Expert!
Happy days.eadocX SupportParticipantUpdate 10th October 2016: Our service provider has had a hardware failure, so the LSA generator is currently not available. We’re really sorry about this and you won’t be surprised that we are encouraging them to fix this.
With a big stick. The underlying problem is caused by when Microsoft apply maintenance to the operating system. Wec cannot identify which change to which OS component.
Creating a new LSA – from a newer version of the LSA code – fixes the problem MOST of the time, but not 100%. If is still doesn’t work, then we will replace your floating licences with either:
– fixed ones, on the basis of 1 floating = 4 fixed
– an company-wide licence, so all users share a singe key. Ask us about this.eadocX SupportParticipantI can seem to change all the bits of the Word table style (editing in Word), and eaDocX re-generates your little table just fine…
eadocX SupportParticipantHi Mike – thanks for the sample – would you like to use the real-time chat on eadocx.com to discuss further ?
