eadocX SupportParticipant
are you telling eaDocX to use a Word table style ?
eadocX SupportParticipantCan you check the Profile to make sure there is an entry for ‘Term’. If not, add one.
Also, make sure you add a glossary with the eaDocX ‘Insert / Project Glossary’ option. If this doesn’t work, then please update to latest eaDocX version ,and re-test – I;ve just checked with 3.9.0 and it’s OK.
eadocX SupportParticipantIf eaDocX doesn’t find an internet connection, then it will carry-on working. This enables it to be used in secure environments.
However, your users will then not be informed of new versions and fixes, so they will have to remember to occasionally go to eaDocX.com to see what’s new.eadocX SupportParticipantthere is lots of sympathy, but at the moment, no way forward. Sparx have not been forthcoming in providing additional information about the error, and we have no people available at the moment to action it even when they do.
I suggest you try a work-around 🙁eadocX SupportParticipantShort answer – no.
(see https://store.eadocx.com/forum/2-eadocx-queries/1250-multiple-profiles-and-sub-reports#2379)Longer answer: you can have different formatting if the section each contain a Element Report: they have private formatting options. But for regular section, they are all the same, by design.
eadocX SupportParticipantThat text is in an ‘invisible’ style – one which will not print.
You can stop seeing it in the eaDocX/Word window by choosing eaDocX / Tools / Hide/Show section Marks.
There is no supplied Word template – we assume that you are already Word users, and will want to use your own styles and formatting from your own Word templates.
All you need to do in eaDocX is to say which of your Word paragraph styles eaDocX should use for which bits of your document. Some stuff is built-in, for example, heading 1..Heading6. Everything else will use your ‘normal’ style, unless you configure something else.
It’s all in the help…eadocX SupportParticipantUse the Word ‘outline’ view to see which Word Paragraph Style eaDocX is using for this header. Then check the styles used before it.
eadocX SupportParticipantThat’s because you are not a registered CUSTOMER – you just have a registration for the website, which means you can download the trial, but not the paid-for version.
eadocX SupportParticipantBelieve me, if I knew, I would tell you! All this is part of the Dark Magic which is the Microsoft WIX installer.
Best plan is to install eaDocX somewhere, then see what got installed.
Please not that, if you DO create some exotic automation to do this, then we may well change how it works at some future date, as this stuff isn’t seen by users. For example, we’re currently a bit relaxed about what eaDocX classes are made ‘public’, so that will be gradually reducing as new releases some along.eadocX SupportParticipantIf you install the EA Cloud server locally, what happens?
eadocX SupportParticipantI think I can save you some time here….
eaDocX makes LOTS and LOTS of calls to EA, so you either need to use eaDocX with an EAP file on the same machine, or a shared EAP file or a FAST DBMS on either a local machine or one VERY near by.
The one time I tried to use eaDocX with a remote database, I got bored waiting for it to create even a simple document.
So, don’t even THINK about using eaDocX with an AWS database – WAYYYY too slow.eadocX SupportParticipantIf you are feeling very keen…
..then the IP address and the licence key string are saved in a file called (usually)
c:users(username)AppDataRoamingSparx_Systems_Pty_ltd(long, strange folder name)(EA version number)user.config.Within that there is an entry like:
lgCBAELooS3WOGpB/yswHdnADz0Jq1whyKJMS9QoMgXGWjwwTYHc=
192.168.0.42
I have never tried to insert information directly into this file, mainly because I can’t figure out the strange folder name, so that the file can be found, but I’m sure you could search around to find it: it’s always in the same place, and starts with “DefaultDomain_Path”.
So that’s my best offer: but remember that all eaDocX does is declare some Application Settings, and it’s EA – via the OS – which controls the content of this file. We never write to it directly.
So you MIGHT be able to mess with this user.config file, but you’re way off-piste, so all the normal cautions apply.eadocX SupportParticipantDoes the same error occur when the model is a local EAP, or a local DBMS?
I’m trying to work out whether this is an issue with the environment or the DBMSeadocX SupportParticipantWe are still waiting for a fix to this issue from Sparx.
Please see the Sparx forum to see progress (or lack of it) – several people have reported errors with the V13 menu mechanism.
The issue is that, prior to v13, EA passed some parameters to all Add-ins, telling them where the user had clicked to get a menu – the main (top) menu, on a diagram, or in the project browser.
These parameters are currently (as of v13 build 1303) either not being passed, or being passed incorrectly. Until this is fixed, eaDocX – and most other non-Sparx add-ins – will not support EA v13.eadocX SupportParticipantWe have recently discovered this idea of an ’embedded element’, of which Port seems to be one:
See forum question.
So, embedded elements are currently not supported in eaDocX XL. -
