eadocX SupportParticipant
New feature which allows for this will be in 3.8.7.0 which will be on the website later today.
eadocX SupportParticipantOK – I have found an error in this area, which was being masked by error handlers further up the stack, and I’ve added a fix. This will be in 3.8.7 (or higher) so I suggest you have a go with that.
eadocX SupportParticipantBefore I dive into this any further, I’d like to know the exact journey which took you here:
1. Did you create a ‘0.0.1’ version and save it?
2. If you look in the TVs for that ‘0.0.1’ EA element <> does it have a ‘settings’ tagged value with a memo type and a bunch of XML in it ?
It looks like eaDocX is finding the settings TV in the old version, but the XML has been corrupted somehow since it was written.eadocX SupportParticipantI have created eaDocX v3.8.6.1, which has some additional error-checking which MIGHT tell us more about what’s happening here. This is a strange error indeed, form the depths of eaDocX, from a bit which hasn’t changed for many years (finding a tagged value from an element), so i’d like to try and see more about what EA is sending back to eaDocX.
Please you install 3.8.6.1 and see if the eaDocX log shows any more information.
I need to log details (list of messages, including the last ‘info’ message, and the details of the exception.eadocX SupportParticipantIf only that fixed all EA problems!
Please try out eaDocX on a new model, with some simple content. This will tell us whether it’s content in your EA model which eaDocX doesn’t like, or some more generic issue. BTW – we have never ween this issue before, so we suspect that it still may be EA model corruption.
Another way to fix corruption in EA is to export content to XMI, delete from the model, then re-import form the XMI. This does a great job of making everything clean again.eadocX SupportParticipantAh – the Model Expert non-admin installer is done and released – we’re just trying to find what we did with the eaDocX version.
It’s not that we’ve lost it.
We just don’t know exactly where we put it….eadocX SupportParticipantThis looks like a problem with the data which eaDocX is getting back from EA.
Please can you take a copy of your model, and do an EA ‘Project Integrity check’, so EA can repair the model.
Then try againeadocX SupportParticipantPossible, I guess, but as posted previously, this is really complicated, given all the different word settings.
One thing to try – there is a setting in the ‘Diagram Settings’ of eaDocX, which lets you assign a word paragraph style to the diagram image. This lets you, for example, center or left-justify the image. Might be a bit of extra help.eadocX SupportParticipantThis is the correct behavior.
Excel is only available in eaDocX Corporate Edition.eadocX SupportParticipantAs luck would have it, we have just completed a non-admin installer (for exactly the reasons you mention) so I’ll let you know when we’ve finished testing it. Shouldn’t be more than a day or two.
eadocX SupportParticipantHave you checked that the name of the script, and the name which eaDocX is looking for, are the same string. Exactly.
This may have nothing to do with the scripting DLL….eadocX SupportParticipantPlease can you email me the .exe file (zipped, of course) and I will make it available if people have problems with this.
eadocX SupportParticipantNo news is usually good news!
If you have this ‘base 64’ problem, the only advice we have is to create a new LSA from the latest code. There are no other solutions.eadocX SupportParticipantAh Ha! I see what you mean, and yes, this is a bug in eaDocX.
Well, not so much a bug, as something which eaDocX currently doesn’t do at all – allow sorting of columns of related data.
So, congratulations – you’re about to get a feature named after you 🙂
Working on it now.eadocX SupportParticipantI’m struggling with this one- all the SQL which I submit to the Sparx API (where the SQL has come from an EA search (with no diagnostics: just Error=0…).
So, this is going to take a while. -
