as per previous reply, only solution is to either downgrade eaDocX, or upgrade EA to v12 build 1215 or higher.

    Strange.
Can you add some screen-shots of what that package looks like in EA, then how you select the package.

looking at the screenshot, it doesn’t look like you have chosen a package – there is nothing in the ‘package’ field. Ideally, the UI should disable the ‘save’ button – looks like it doesn’t 🙁

This really is fixed in 3.6 – if you can find a way to use this version, i’m sure you’ll find this issue has gone away

We added the function quite a while back to print the ‘description’ field which Sparx have added to Tagged Values..
    ..but.
in release (3.6.2.7) we have stopped doing this by default. There is now a setting In Repository Settings called ‘Print tagged value with notes’ which we default to ‘false’. This is makes the TV print with its notes.
So, if you install the latest version, the TV notes should not print.
Quite WHY a TV has its own notes, and no other Sparx attributes do, is not clear to me!

    You can’t.
It’s not how we intended it to be, but the Generator sets all kinds of variables which are needed by Document Management, so I’m afraid that’s just how it is… 🙁

You’re going to have to give me a few more clues…..

The Collaboration Details option is only enabled if you have a valid Collaboration Edition licence on your machine,I thought there were other checks, but that seems to be it (at 3.6.2.x)

    Thanks @cbrehm.
By far the best solution to this is to upgrade EA to the latest V12 build.
But if you’re not able to do this, I suggest re-installing eaDocX. Hopefully this will make sure that the DLL is removed from any DLL caches.

in reply to: Sorting of Scenario table in use case wrong #8153

I have had a look into the EA database for this, and there seems to be a column – “EValue” – which gets changed when you manually re-order scenarios (using the Up/Down buttons on the EA ‘Description’ Tab in the Use Case Properties)

If you don’t make any changes to this sequence, and just use the second ‘Structured Scenario’ tab, then EValue is also set, but it’s not clear of the meaning – I think EA is doing what eaDocX does, and getting the sequence from the place in the Basic Path where the Alternate/Exception starts, which is what most readers would expect, and ignoring the EValue.
BUT, eaDocX can’t tell is the EValue has been set by you, by a manual re-ordering, or by EA using the Structured Scenario editor. So switching to using EValue for sort order would change existing documents for other users, which is something we try hard to avoid.
So, I don’t think eaDocX can do anything different from what it does today. Remember that the reader can easily find alternates and exceptions, as they can click on the hyperlinks in the basic path scenario.
Sorry, but don’t think we can help you.

Looks like he may be using Word 2003, not 2007+.
Only with 2007 did Word provide the capability to save custom XML inside the document. Before that, we created an invisible field at the end of the document, and hid the XML Profile in there. eaDocX checks the level of Word, and uses the old mechanism is the new one isn’t available. I really must remove that old stuff….

Adding a Glossary should create a Profile for am element type of ‘Term’ – do you have this ?

Good suggestion, but VERY hard to do.
The only way to find an EA element in a Word document would be to add tags for ALL EA elements into ALL documents, just in case the user wants to do this.
We actually tried this once: it made the document even slower to generate!
..but if you can think of a better solution, I’m listening.

    Fixed in 3.6.2.5.
    I commented-out some code with ”
“There is no test case which runs this bit..” – well, there is now!
    Thanks
