Ah – If I knew that, I’d sleep better!
We’re looking into what might be a permanent fix to this, but we need to make sure that no existing users are impacted, so it takes a lot of testing. I will update this posting if have a permanent solution.

I’m not much help with firewalls: its all Dark Magic to me. Best to do what you are doing: make it work on one machine, then make small changes, and see where it stops working.

Are you sure all the security settings are exactly the same as before? And filewalls?

Do you know what changes were made to your environment to make this happen? If we knew that, we could construct a test case.

There are a number of forum postings about this error, which seems to have happened after an update to your environment.
We suggest that if you wish to use floating licences, you run the Licence Server Application on a physical not a virtual server. The LSA seems not to like some flavors of virtual server. As there are so many, in so many different operating environments, we are not able to test all possibilities.
If you are unable to resolve this issue, then eaDocX offers a free exchange of floating licences for fixed ones: 1 floating for 3 fixed.

There is no way, and no plan for there to be a way, to update EA from the eaDocX Word document.
This is because the Word document doesn’t understand the identity of the source EA elements/attributes.
We go part-way to fixing this with Collaboration Edition. Here, the Reviewer doesn’t update the document, but adds comments and answers questions, which are saved in the EA model. But we still don’t let the Reviewer change the document, because we think this doesn’t scale.
We MAY in future allow Collaboration Edition to take a copy of a small part of the document, and suggest modifications to the text, but this still will not change the document, just create a richer comment.
So there is no intention in any product to allow changes in the document to get pushed into EA.

Ah – environment. My favorite kind of error 🙁

I think there might be a pre-requisite of some sort of Microsoft Scripting Control, but that should have been installed when you installed eaDocX. I will ask the India team on Monday, who built this, but they have gone home for the weekend.

I have added this as a new feature to the next build, which is scheduled to be 3.6.0.3. I plan to release this later today (27/3/2015) or early next week. How urgent is this Geert ?

Can you get ANY script to work when called from eaDocX? Or is it ALL scripts which fail ?
Also, in the example above, what value does the TEST variable have? Does this work?

My language skills are not good, but does that mean there is an error of some kind in the Script ?

Ah – the composite diagram not owned by the element – I hadn’t thought of that.
I don’t suppose you know where EA saves details of which diagram is the composite for an element ? In which case, I can add the feature, just for you.

The challenge is how to specify the exact kind of connector to create between for each Cell: type, direction, name, stereotype etc.
So far, this idea has stayed in the ‘too hard’ pile 🙁

Sadly, we know about this one. It’s why eaDocX tries to black-out the Word top menu area, so that users can’t even see the Word ‘exit’ button.
We have tried many times to fix this one, but it’s down in the weeds of windows….:-(

    This can be done.
When you create a Profile, it gets saved inside your Word document. So, if you create a Word Document Template (docm or dotx file) from the document, then each time a user creates a new document from the Word Template, they will get the Profile. This might take you part of the way ?

I have had a couple of attempts to do this, because I agree, it’s a pain.
Once the dust has settled on the next release (3.8 – due to be published on Monday) I will go back into BAU mode, and look at all these outstanding issues.
    Thanks
