The challenge with documenting the contents of a diagram is ‘how to decide the order of printing’? When eaDocX asks EA for the contents of a diagram, we get back a flat list of elements. eaDocX will group similar-formatting elements together, and print them in order of Element type, but we can’t go much beyond that: we just don’t know any more. Printing from diagrams works well when the diagrams are either in a section by themselves or when they live in a package with no other element: stops too many duplicates from printing.
You have some alternatives:
1 – Document Package B, which will print elements 3,4,5,6 , then specifically exclude element4
– not sure how you can tell eaDocX to print only those elements which relate to these, which are just the ones which are in a specific package: you can restrict by the type of element, and the type of connection, which is the more normal way to do things. Even if eaDocX could do this, it would be a very fragile way to model.
2- create an EA Model View, and put your elements into that, and print the Model View in its own section.eadocX SupportParticipantIssue was fixed in 3.5.0.3 – please see release notes.
eadocX SupportParticipantYou can change the Word paragraph style for figures: see Options and settings / This document / Diagrams. Then just give the new style some space after it.
eadocX SupportParticipantDid you look in the Help under Element Features? There’s a fairly good explanation of how you can print Element Feature links. If it’s the properties of the relationship/connector you want, then I think these appear to eaDocX as just extra relationships, so you can report on those as well.
Is that enough for what you need ?eadocX SupportParticipanteaXL does not process the HTML which EA puts into the Notes field, and we have no plans to fix this: Excel isn’t a very good HTML text editor, though if they ever change this, then we might use it.
So, our advice is don’t use eaXL for editing notes fields, where those fields use HTML markeup.eadocX SupportParticipantPlease always try latest release before reporting an issue. Fixed in 3.5.
eadocX SupportParticipantWhich release are you using?
eadocX SupportParticipantWhich eaDocX version are you using? This is ESSENTIAL in any posting!
eadocX SupportParticipantI think this is an issue with the location of the default Word template. With a Quick Document, eaDocX just tries to open a new Word document, which will use the ‘normal.dotx’ template (my be a different name in other national languages).
Please check the setting in eaDocX / Options and Settings / Application Settings / General / Word Templates / Location of Word Templates. This might be set to a non-existent location?eadocX SupportParticipantUPDATE – I have just promoted v3.5 to be the default trial version, so can download this which should fix this issue.
eadocX SupportParticipantThis issue has been fixed in the latest version. Are you using the trial version, because we have not updated that with this fix.
eadocX SupportParticipantSee Options and Settings / options for this document / Diagram Filters
eadocX SupportParticipantSee eaDocX / Options and Settings / Options for this document / General / Overrides to Word Heading styles.
There is also a link at the bottom of the help page you quote here, which takes to another page which explains all about this. 🙁- This reply was modified 10 years, 1 month ago by eadocX Support.
eadocX SupportParticipantYou don’t need to create an MDG to give a stereotype to a package!

eadocX SupportParticipantI think that eaDocX has been made to work on VMs inside MacOS, but i’m not a MAC user, so can’t be much help.
Any Mac users of eaDocX out there who can help? -
