If this is one of those office editions which incrementally installs bits of function as they are used, then no: the mechanism which detects that the user is using a bit of e.g. Word is OK at downloading new stuff, but doesn’t work when Word is being used by eaDocX via the API.
Summary – no, I don’t expect eaDocX to work with this version of WordeadocX SupportParticipantIf it’s any consolation, I found the same thing when I used Screen Architect, which is a shame, as it’s a useful gadget.
My best guess is that EA doesn’t like multiple Addins responding to the same events at the same time. Have you contacted the SA guys in NZ?eadocX SupportParticipantHi Phil,
This comes about because of the way eaDocX has to store its settings. As a DLL, it seems to rely on a EA location to save stuff, and this location seems to be EA version dependent. Each time you install a new EA version, a new settings location and settings file is setup, so all the old settings – including the licence key – are lost. Looks like the Sparx boys have a secret way of copying the settings across as part of the upgrade process, but there’s no API – of course.
Not sure why eaDocX has reacted so badly though. It should just prompt you to re-enter the key.eadocX SupportParticipantHi Heather,
We can’t help you with automatic creation of a separate glossary document. What the eaDocX glossary does do is create a document glossary using the subset of the terms from the EA glossary which appear in the document.
The first time a glossary term is used in the document, it is gently highlighted, using a dotted underline. We tried a full underlined hyperlink, but it looked really clumsy.
Will this suffice ?eadocX SupportParticipantNo.
eaDocX requires that you specify each attribute and tagged value which you want to print.
Your question seems to be a bit contradictory: you want all TVs “without me having to specify”, but also “I want all of those I specify”.
I’m confused.eadocX SupportParticipantFixed in 3.4.2, now available on the website
eadocX SupportParticipantQuite right – don’t know how this got broken.
Will be fixed in the next maintenance release. I will update this posting when the release is available.eadocX SupportParticipantIf you are stuck using a pre-eaDocX 3.4 version, then there is no fix.
BUt remember that, in v3.3 AND 3.4, if a user doesn’t use the eaDocX floating licence for 10 minutes, it gets returned to the pool of available licences, so this may not be such a problem.eadocX SupportParticipantWhat’s the problem here? Did you create a Word Table style, and it’s NOT in the list in eaDocX? Does the Word Style have spaces in it ?
eadocX SupportParticipantThis was an issue with eaDocX 3.3, but got fixed in 3.4
eadocX SupportParticipantWe didn’t miss it, so much as do something else: post-processing scripts for eaXL when importing.
I agree that the idea is excellent, and if we sense there is more demand for it, we’ll do it..eadocX SupportParticipantCan you change the Word Paragraph Styles for any other eaDocX settings ?
eadocX SupportParticipantNo idea about this one. And not one I can test. Sorry
eadocX SupportParticipantChoose “Diagram and all contents” to make eaDocX print the list of messages in a sequence diagram. I think this is described in the help.
eadocX SupportParticipantProblem will be fixed in the final release of eaDocX 3.4, due next week. (Problem with a missing test case not being run)
