I guess the first thing to get working is making EA store your characters.
It MAY help to follow the instructions in the EA Help, and enable Unicode characters, by using the JET 4.0 engine (EA, Tools, Options, General).
Once you can store the character in EA, then eaDocX has a chance of printing it.
We do support Unicode characters, as many european languages have non-ascii character sets (Polish, Hungarian, Slovenian etc), and eaDocX works fine with those languages.
So, get EA to work first, then see if eaDocX is happy.

I’ll change the strange loop thing, but in the meantime, the latest release notes are at https://store.eadocx.com/blog/437-latest-release-notes.
I will update these each time there is a new release.
    Thanks

I think I’m going to start a blog entry, which has all the new features/bug fixes, and why they are there, for each new release.
When it’s done, I’ll amend this posting.

The ‘trick’ is to get me to write the bit of code which generates it properly!
This just got missed-off from the list of ‘useful links which can appear in the Notes field’.
I have fixed this in version 3.3.7.0
    Thanks

    Hi Volker,
You are correct that there is no way to copy the report between documents.
    But…
..you could ‘save as’ the document, and then the new copy will already have the definition of the element report in it.

    So would I !
I’d really like to include this, but I can’t find an API which will reliably delivers a list of the available templates. If you know of one, please let me know, and I’ll include the feature immediately.

You’ve lost me here, Heather – it’s been a long week!
Could you explain in a little more details please?

Best plan is to submit a ‘Request Feture’ yourself to Sparx – they do listen to these (sometimes…) but we never get any promises before a new release is finally anounced.
We used to call this “management by nice surprises..”

    Neither am I!!!
Can you enable the eaDocX Trace function, then see if there is anything which eaDocX is doing at the same time as you are inserting your new element.
Also, If you create a new, empty EAP, can you reproduce the problem ?

    Hi Heather,
This does seem to have returned. The error is coming from our call to a standard Word function (using find/replace), and due to the nature of the error, is hard to trap and handle – even Microsoft are clearly not expecting this one!
One question: has you machine recently had any maintenance applied to Office ? I’m wondering if this is the cause ?

    A good idea.
What would you expect the User Experience to be like?
For preference, I’d base it on the existing EA Model View / Slideshow mechanism, where you can select a set of diagrams to go into a presentation.
Maybe we could hook this up to your PPT presentation, then just generate one new slide containing each diagram. EA diagrams can also contain text or graphics, so it might not look too bad.
    Would this do ?

This is now implemented in V3.3.6.0, now available from this website

    This is a great idea!
So good, in fact, that we even wrote all the code to do it 🙂
..but then forgot to include it in the last release 🙁
..but now we’ve put it back into 3.3.6.0 🙂
The output doesn’t have all the hyperlinking which the existing mechanism uses, but we thought that this wasn’t as important if all the scenarios are all in one place.
We’ve also created a sample (“Exploring eaDocX – Compact Use Cases”) which shows what this can look like.
    Thanks for reminding us!

…which is exactly the build of my main development/test environment
    EXCEPT this Smart Tools Assistant.
Can you try un-installing this, and see if there is any change?

    Sorry about this…..
If you can give me all the details of your machine setup, including any previous versions of Office which you may have installed, then I will try to build a VM to reproduce the problem.
    I need:
    OS + SP
Office – current and previous + SP
    EA version
    eaDocX version
Any other EA Extensions you are running
    Any other extensions/add-in to Office
