    Wolfgang,
You might try this posting: this is sounding like an Office/eaDocX/EA interaction issue, which this posting seemed to fix.
    See https://store.eadocx.com/forum/2-eadocx-queries/857-excel-interop-dll-error

Another helpful posting is this one:
    http://go4answers.webhost4life.com/Example/0x80029c4a-type_e_cantloadlibrary-116535.aspx

The suggestion is that it might have been interference from you anti-virus software, as well as or instead of the Office DLL problem.

I’m imagining that the exclude/include rule would apply per document, whether the diagram is being printed as part of the regular, package-base section, or as part of an ELement Report, or any other reason.
I’d just get the generator to do a quick check before it prints the diagram, just to minimise the scope of the change.

    Good suggestion.
It’s not currently on the roadmap, just because nobody has asked for it – until now!
The trick will be to implement it in such a way that all existing documents continue to work the same – not too hard – but also that we don’t clutter-up the UI with yet more options which most users won’t want.
Hence I like the idea of a global exclude/include rule, which could be kept away from the main UI.
So if we were to introduce a simple document-level setting, which either
    – included ONLY documents of a specified type+stereotype, or
    – excluded all documents of a type+stereotype, would this be sufficient ? It would fit under Options & Settings, Diagram?
I’d make it so that you could put multiple types & stereotypes in either.

    Hi Wolfgang,
    Thanks for this.
I still can’t reproduce the error, following your steps, so perhaps I’m doing something slightly different to you:
    My steps were:

    1. Opened a model – The supplied EA Example from Sparx
    2. Selected the ‘Modeling Basics’ package
    3. Right-click, Extensions, eaDocX, Open in Excel
    4. (big spreadsheet opens with lots of elements)
    5. closed that spreadsheet – using the ‘X’ button top-right of the spreadsheet, above ‘Help’
    6. ‘don’t save’ option
    7. Opened the ‘Using the example model’ diagram above
    8. Added and Activity to it
    9. …all seemed to go OK.

Can you repeat these steps? Make sure the EA Example model is in a place where you’re allowed to do updates to it (that is, move it from Program Files to MyDocuments)

Please let me know what happens – we’ll fix this !!!!

    Hi Wolfgang,
None of us have seen this error before!
Do you have any special locking or version control applied to your model? Or any other Extensions? Is it a shared DBMS or an EAP file ?
Are you able to reproduce the problem on a small, non-confidential model which you can send to support@eadocx.com, so we can reproduce it here?

Should be possible (in a future version). I’ll have a look

We have an issue at the moment with some installations of the Trial system.
In 3.3 we moved to using the same approach as EA – separate executables for the Trial and Production (paid for) versions.
..but something seems to be affecting SOME installs.
If this is you, we’re really sorry, but just email enquiries@eadocx.com, and we’ll send you a licence which will work.
In the meantime, we’re looking into the problem.
When you send the request, please can you tell us as much about your OS, Office version etc as possible: we think this is a Windows/Office environment problem, possibly connected with the saving of settings on your machine, which we’re finding it hard to reproduce.
    Thanks

Not the user experience we had in mind….
We do limited testing with Windows 8 at the moment, as we have very few users.
My suspicion is that this comes from the PhoneHome function, which is checking with eaDocx.com for any product updates. Once this has come back ok, it won’t check again for a few days.
    Is this repeatable?

Found the error: spelling mistake. It’s Interrupt_i_ble not interrupt_a_ble.
Fix will be in next release AFTER 3.3.4.2

I see you problem: InterruptableActivityRegion doesn’t appear in the list of available element types!
I will fix this in the next release, but in the meantime, if you just produce a QuickDocument of the package which contains the IAR, then eaDocX Quick Document will create a Profile for the IAR, then you can edit that.
    Sorry for the confusion.

please can you tell me the full config of your machine: OS, Office, DBMS EA, eaDocX, so that I can reproduce.

There’s a checkbox in the bottom left of the Table Formatting page which say ‘Print tables like this in Landscape orientation”

Did you use Quick Document too get an initial document?
Try that, then you’ll see that some element types are formatted as Tables, some as Inline, depending on your particular model structure.
After that, just follow the ‘getting started’ bit of the Help
