Which dialog do you mean? An eaDocX one or Word ?
eadocX SupportParticipantIf you open the Word document in eaDocX, in the eaDocX menu there is a ‘Options and Settings’. This controls, amongst many other things, which Word styles are used for which bits of generated text.
The ‘Inline’ bit determines which Word styles are used for regular paragraphs and headings, and the ‘Tables’ bit does the same for tables. So, you can choose your own styles to use for the text which follows a heading.eadocX SupportParticipantThanks for this. In the meantime, I will investigate if I can extract this data. I’ve just discovered that Sparx have hidden some other stuff in the same place 🙁
eadocX SupportParticipantWe have looked at this a lot for v3.3, and I hope you’ll be happy with the result.
You can now choose a Word Table Style for any element or stereotype of element. The vertical alignment can then be set in each Word Table Style, and for any/all columns or rows. This is way more control than we could get using eaDocX settings, so we hope will give you all the options you need.
Remember there is still a restriction (from Microsoft) that Word Table Style names cannot contain spaces, or diacritic characters, and be used by eaDocX.eadocX SupportParticipantNews back from Sparx.
They have put the data into a binary field, in a zipped format, into the t_document table. Obvious really 🙁
I have asked Sparx for some code to extract the data, but they have said no.
I will continue to try to get the data, but in the meantime, could you put a question on the EA forum ? I think we should encourage Sparx not to hide our data.eadocX SupportParticipantSeems like there were no charts in your spreadsheet!
😉eadocX SupportParticipantNo problem – given the difficulties you have had!
I will send another 30-day trial licence to your email addresseadocX SupportParticipantExcellent! We only have a few customers who are using Office 2013 (as of March 2013) so your experiences are really valuable. Please update this thread with any more thought about 2013.
ThankseadocX SupportParticipantAs of the current release -3.3 – eaDocX works well with Word 2013.
With Excel 2013, we have a work-around to get over a problem which Microsoft have introduced with 2013. They changed some of the internals, which means we can’t embed excel inside EA. instead, excel will run in an external window. Same function, but not quite so nice to use. We are trying to get Microsoft to fix this problem, or at least document a work around, but they seem surprised by the issue!eadocX SupportParticipantStrange.
Could you mail the spreadsheet to support@eadocx.com and I will take a look.eadocX SupportParticipantThe drop-down is populated from the list of named charts in the spreadsheet.
Does the spreadsheet have some named charts ?eadocX SupportParticipantNot sure that LiveMeeeting is the problem.
I know its a real pain, but have you tried to install eaDocX on a different machine?
Or, de-install Office, and re-install it ?eadocX SupportParticipantInitial investigations aren’t good – I remember now why there is no explicit eaDocX support for the Rule Composer: the data it creates is not available via the EA API, nor is is even visible in the raw database. It seems they may have put the critical data into a binary field. I have a asked a question with Sparx Tech Support, so I’m waiting for a reply.
I’ve also asked The Man on the internals of EA ( Mr. “qwerty” on the EA forums) if he understands it, and he’s also looking.
Perhaps you might also put a question on the EA forum?eadocX SupportParticipantHi Igor,
I was wondering when someone would ask a question about this!
It’s not currently one of our test cases for eaDocX, I guess because it’s not one of the most popular bits of EA, but when I last looked at it, it looked really interesting.
To give some ‘real’ test data, could you possible post an XMI of some example rule flows to support@eadocx.com? In the meantime, using Quick Document is usually a good way to let eaDocX do the hard work: it will look at your model, and create a Profile based on what it finds. It doesn’t explicitly look for Rule Composer data, but it should get you started.
I will create soe test cases, then update this post when I have more news.eadocX SupportParticipantPlease can you install v3.3 (on the Customer Downloads page) and see if the problem is fixed – I have done lots of Sorting-related improvements in 3.3
