    Hi,

as said, I don’t remember what we concluded when I reported the table caption issue.

In our project, we meanwhile have a quite complex approach for post-processing the documents. We search for previous figures and chapter headers to generate a caption for the tables (with different suffixes like ‘- References’, depending on whether we found a figure first or a chapter header). But this is probably too project specific.

What about using the header of the chapter containing the table? Not perfect, but it would probably be more meaningful than a simple “Table 1”. In any case, please make it a configurable option.

    Best regards

    Hi,

    the issues were about
    1. Table of Tables not updated correctly. When I have a document with a table of tables and eaDocX generates further tables during document generation, those tables do not appear in the table of tables

    2. When eaDocX generates a table with captions, only the table number is inserted, e.g. “Table 1”. You stated that the chapter header or some other descriptions (don’t remember) will be used, so that it becomes “Table 1:

    “.

Another issue I reported was that the table caption for a Glossary didn’t even show a number, but “TableĀ§ “. When I tried it with 4.1.1.0, no table at all was generated.

    Hi,

yes, it is a unique eaDocX issue. I had disabled all plug-ins and the messages were shown correctly. I then enabled all plug-ins except eaDocX and it still works fine. Only when I enable eaDocX (alone or in conjunction with other plug-ins), the message connectors get misplaced.

    Hi,

I don’t know any details of eaDocX internals, so I wouldn’t even know what to ask in the EA forum. Anyway, what would it help if I understand the messages broadcast by EA without knowledge of how they are handled in eaDocX?

But in general, why does eaDocX processes messages, which it doesn’t understand? Shouldn’t those messages simply be ignored? Does “intercept” mean, that those messages are removed from the message queue and won’t be processed by EA itself anymore?

I guess you are the only party, who could investigate what messages from EA are processed by eaDocX during connector creation, how eaDocX handles them and why that leads to a misplacement of the connector in the diagrams. So I still think this is the right forum to solve that problem.

    Best regards

You nailed it! One of the computers where it works has the default setting of 100%, while two of the computers where it doesn’t work had a setting of 125% (I didn’t check more than that). When I change it to 100%, it looks fine.
Is it something that can be fixed with any 4.x version (just curiosity)?

    Hi,

the problems persist with eaDocX 3.9.5.7.

Does the lack of any responses mean, that there is no solution for my problems? Will they be fixed in version 4 then?

    Best regards

    Hi,

it actually doesn’t seem to matter which options I choose during profile load. I tried it with the default options “Import Element formats” and “Import options and settings” as well as with “Import Element formats”, “Import options and settings” and “Delete all existing”. In both cases the settings are overwritten as soon as I add a new section with corresponding elements.

As said in my first mail, I attached a detailed report and project to the issue described at https://store.eadocx.com/forum/2-eadocx-queries/1443-profile-import-doesn-t-work-properly

    Thanks and regards

    Hi,

thanks for the information. It doesn’t seem to work for me, though. I will create a new request for my scripting problem, as it is independent from the original request here.

    Thanks and regards

    Hi,

this is why I can use a script to generate diagrams? You meant “can’t”, right?

A more general question about scripts, where do I need to place them to be accessible for eaDocX? I put the APITest example to all of the scripting groups, but when I switch to “Document using EA Script”, the following script selection dialog is empty. I am using eaDocX 3.9.5.0.
What am I doing wrong here?

    Thanks and regards

    Hi,

thank you very much for your response. It does almost exactly what I need!
The only problem I have is, that the components are not listed alphabetically, even though I selected the option “sort the rows in this table” for the component name column (see attachment).

I am using eaDocX v3.9.5.0, EA corporate edition 12.0.1215 and Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus 2016.
    Do I miss something?

    Thanks and regards

    Hi,

no, I am not talking about the Note attached to the diagram, but about Note elements added to the content of the diagram. So each diagram may contain multiple Note elements and one of them contains the information about user story and task id.

    Thanks and regards

Sorry, but it doesn’t seem to work for me. I configured the Document Management and added the Tagged Value ‘DocID’ to the <> document in the EA model.

Now I can insert it everywhere within the document for example by selecting Insert -> Document Properties -> Custom -> DocID, just as described in the abovementioned link.

But I still cannot select this Tagged Value within the DocumentInfo profile, so that it will be shown in the Doc_Info section. The ‘Standard attribute’ list box doesn’t contain this custom property and the Tagged Value list box remains completely empty.

I am using eaDocX 3.9.3.17, EA 12.0.1215 Corporate Edition and Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus 2016
