Mike BlackwellParticipant
I dont think its EADOCX, I think its EA or a PC config issue. ISSUE CLOSED
FOOTNOTE : It is EA, it didn’t like my extension screen was at 125% scale definition, I changed it to 100% and it all burst into life.

Mike BlackwellParticipantI havent changed computers , its not a high DPI screen (have used it before ok), have installed 5.0.2.0 and it is doing the same.
I always right click on package and do it this way.
As soon as you choose “Open in Excel” it shows the “Exporting” screen showing progress and shows work book, there is no parameter screen to add new columns/sort order etc.Mike BlackwellParticipantYes, I can confirm there is no restrictions on this table for my login. Bizarre. We will see if we can dig deeper.
Mike BlackwellParticipantIf you ignore the error it will generate the rest of the document ok. Though obviously if report is only thing in doc , nothing happens.
The 1st error screen shows about 4 times in a row, the second one once.
Mike BlackwellParticipantIt is a local EAP model (which works) and a server based MySQL (that doesn’t). Only EA security is used within the EA model itself to make sure that parts of model are read only to some users. The bit we are using in the server model was created ourselves by pasting packages in from a local model. We repointed the sections in our EADOC template and can regenerate the document fine apart from the matrix report as described.
Mike BlackwellParticipantExcellent..thanks. Would be great if you could include the saving of SORT Criteria for Matrix relationships as per my other support item.
Mike BlackwellParticipantI found the problem on this, it is because I used a “custom sorting” and chose “Position” and not the “Use sorting from EA” version of sort in describing Scenario Steps. It should have same result but it doesn’t. I have corrected it and it works fine now.
Mike BlackwellParticipantIs this something that you will try and sort out with them? Not sure what your relationship is like when it comes to these things?
Mike BlackwellParticipantWe certainly didn’t have this problem with previous versions so I think it is a bug. Your farm is safe IMHO!
Mike BlackwellParticipantNo it doesn’t have spaces…also, if you move it to the 3rd column, it shows it correctly, so it cant have spaces there or it would happen there too.
Mike BlackwellParticipantI dont think it is that as if I move the column to the 3rd position in table it looks fine and the problem now occurs on the column that is now 1st in table. If it was the default for the table , it would happen for all columns.
I am not sure if there is a Word Default for a table for a single (1st) column.
Mike BlackwellParticipantIncidentally, it seems that it is giving you a minimum width of 120 (ish) on the first column of a table (no matter what element). If it over 120 it does it fine, if it under 120 , it gives 120.
This seems to happen on all tables on any attribute , providing it it is the first column in table.
This only seems to have started happening since I went to EADOCX 4.1.4.0. It does it with a previous version of EA (13) as well.Mike BlackwellParticipantWhen trying QuickDoc we get the enclosed error window and I when set on TRACE and tried EAXL and we got the enclosed trace. Both show error messages. Any idea of cause?
Mike BlackwellParticipantAdditionally, since her upgrade to Version 4, the EADOC templates we use seem to not work either (they did previously). Its almost as if EADOCX is not able to pick up the TYPES in the EAModel? It will try and generate the document but it will not produce the section data. You can then take same model and template to a different PC and it will work fine. We will try and reinstall software and see if it makes a difference.
Mike BlackwellParticipantWe have now upgraded, and although my version seems to work ok, the other user is still not getting elements shown, screen shot attached.
