The Relationship Attributes screen lets you add a single attribute of a related element (B) to the element (A)  you are printing, OR an attribute or Tagged Value of the relationship between (A) and (B).

This can either be as a column in a table of (A) elements, or as another paragraph where (A) is being printed inline.

Choosing either of these opens the Relationship Attributes page:

The screen is in three sections:

1.   The relationship & element type. This is where you specify how elements (A) and (B) are related, and what kind of Element you expect (B) to be. (Also see Advanced Relationships for multi-hop relationships)

2.   The Heading. This determines what eaDocX will print either immediately before the attribute (for inline printing) or as the column heading (in tables). It can be any text string.

3.   The attribute or tagged value of (B) to be printed, or attribute or tagged value of the relationship between (A) and (B). See Specifying element and Relationship attributes.

 

The Relationship & Element Type

You could make the relationship very specific, describing the type, name & stereotype of the relationship between (A) and (B).

For example if your model contains Issue elements, you might relate each issue to some other EA elements which are the subject of the issue. We choose to link them by a 'Dependency' (dotted line with arrow) link from the Issue to the other elements.

So, we can specify the relationship as of type 'Dependency', and its Direction.
