Re-using existing elements

Guide modellers to packages of useful content

It’s easy in EA to create new elements, but this can sometimes be the wrong thing to do.

If your model has, for example, a list of stakeholders for a project, then adding a new one is a big deal, and you might not want every modeller to be able to do this. Most should be re-using a stakeholder from the existing list. They certainly shouldn’t be creating a new stakeholder and giving it the same name as an existing one.

Model Expert can help to prevent this, by including reference data packages in Reference Models, from which modellers must choose when they need to add an element of a particular type.
