Working with Smart Matrices
Did you know that with Model Expert you can …
- Choose from several packages for your source and target elements.
- Select any or all element and relationship types from those packages that you are interested in.
- Show multiple fields for your source and target elements
- Define exactly the information to display with sort and filter conditions.
And you can use conditional formatting based on the contents of the cells to highlight:
- missing relationships or
- ones that meet your defined conditions
Displaying Derived Relationships with virtual connectors
When elements are not connected directly, but are related through several relationships and elements, they may never appear on a diagram together. But there is a connection. It may be deliberate, or accidental. But you still need to know about it.
The ‘multi-hop’ approach that can display derived or virtual relationships in a matrix can also be used to display those relationships on a diagram.
So you can create a diagram that just shows the elements at the ‘ends’ of your multi-hop recipe – with a relationship drawn between them. Without having to include all the intermediate elements and relationships.
