Properties to Edit
Item | Description | See Also |
---|---|---|
Reference Model name | Name will be seen by modellers, so make it a helpful name | |
Help URL | Optional Add a URL which provides additional help to modellers or model managers. It may, for example, point to a location on your intranet where additional help is available. | Tailored Modelling Help |
Help Text | Optional A short text description of the Reference Model. Will be seen when a user is choosing a Reference Model, for example, when making a package ‘managed’. | Making a package Managed or Un-managed |
MDG name | EA MDG names must have fewer than 13 characters. So if your Reference Model name has more than this, use this field to give your MDG a shorter name.
If you are changing your Reference Model, but need to maintain backward-compatibility, it’s OK to change the name of the Reference Model, but keep the MDG name the same. That way, existing elements in your model, which were created with old versions of the Reference Model, will still use newer versions. |
|
ACTION: Save as MDG | Saves the current diagram type settings within this Reference Model into an MDG, so that each diagram will get a customized toolbox. | Generating MDGs |

Diagrams | Diagram types allowed in this Reference Model | Editing RM diagram properties |
Validation Rules | If you edit the built-in set of validation rules, then a copy of all of the rules is saved with the Reference Model | Built-in validation rules |
ACTION: Reload model | Save your changes, then reload the model with your changes implemented. |
