Repository settings apply to all users of a single repository.

Settings	Description
Attribute default values	When Model Expert analyzes a part of your model, some attributes will have values which are pre-filled by EA. If a field or tagged value is in this list, and it’s value is the ‘default value’, then Model Expert will assume that the field/tagged value is not used, and it will not appear in the list of ‘attributes’ in a snapshot meta-model or reference model If the field/tagged value is not in this list, and has a non-blank value, then Model Expert will add it to the list of attributes in a snapshot meta-model or reference model.
Exceptions	These are fields/tagged values which the Model Expert Analyzer will ignore. This is because these fields/tagged values are given values by EA which tend to make snapshot and reference models unnecessarily complicated.
Connector violation colors	These settings define the colors of connector violations which appear on a ‘check diagram’. The defaults are: This says that where there are no errors, connectors will be colored green where a connector has violation severities which add-up to between zero and 3, they will be colored yellow where a connector has violation severities from 3 to 10, they will be colored red. by implication, connectors with >10 violation severities, they will also be colored red You can customize these values to change the ranges and colors which Model Expert uses when coloring connectors.
Element violation colors	These settings define the colors and ranges of colors for element severities, as seen on a ‘check’ diagram. The defaults are: This says that where the total violation severities for an element are <1 (that is, zero) , elements will be colored green where an element has violation severities which add-up to between 1 and 5, they will be colored yellow where an element has violation severities from 5 to 10, they will be colored red. by implication, elements with >10 violation severities, they will also be colored red You can customize these values to change the ranges and colors which Model Expert uses when coloring elements.
More colors	You can click on the buttons to change the colors which are used by Model Expert when creating snapshot meta-models and Reference Models.
Temporary package	This is the package where Model Expert will put working diagrams and packages. Specifically it will contain: Snapshot meta-models: their package, classes and diagrams. These can get created from the EA project browser the dashboard Temporary diagrams showing: All the elements of a type, All the connectors of a type Violations when you check a single diagram NOTE: Make sure that ALL Model Expert users have access to this temporary package.

Technical note: these settings are saved in the t_xref table:

At Model Expert v2.0, there is no way to export/import repository settings between repositories, other than manually copy this data between EA databases.

User settings apply to a single user, for all the Repositories they use.

Option	Description
Show Model Expert element properties for new elements	Control when the Model Expert Custom Properties form appears
Reset Model Expert help	When you use a Model Expert feature for the first time, Model Expert will show some additional help, which in each case you can choose not to see again. Selecting this option will reset all those help screens, so you will see them all again.
Reset Model help	Modellers working in managed packages will also see help which is defined by a Reference Model, when they first create a new kind of diagram. Selecting this will reset these help screens, so the modeller will see them all again.

All these settings are saved in the user’s computer, by EA, in a file called user.config, in user.AppData.Sparx
