Model Expert lets you define lots of different types of help for modellers, making it easy for everyone to model “Right First Time”.

Types of Help

Reference Model	Help text with a description of what this Reference model contains (or what this type of model is used for) A URL which points to an example of your best practice modelling standards for this particular set of model contents. Each Reference Model may have a unique Help text and point to a different example. Help URLs may, for example, point to a location on your intranet where additional help is available, or where training materials are located. Element Properties	Help text which appears in a pop-up box when the modeller adds this element type to a diagram in a managed package A Help URL which points to a description of this element type Add this content in the Reference Model Element Properties. Element Attributes	A tailored user interface (properties window) may be created for elements in a reference model. This means that a limited set of attributes for each element are shown to modellers when working in managed packages. Help is provided for each attribute by: Indicating if the attribute is required or not Providing a ‘pick-list’ of allowed values Giving it a meaningful displayed name Adding a default value Referencing the Group that this attribute belongs to Defining Help text – shown in the additional notes field of the tailored UI Add this content in the Reference Model Element Attributes. Element Connector Types	Each element type in a Reference model also has a set of allowed connector types that can connect to it. Add User-visible Name Help text which is displayed if incorrect connectors are chosen. Add this content in the Reference Model Connector Type Properties.	Editing RM Connector type properties
Diagram Properties	For each diagram type in a Reference model, Model Expert lets you define: A Help URL which points to a description of the purpose of this diagram type A Help diagram which is an example of the diagram and contents allowed or expected A Template diagram to provide the modeller with a starting point Help text, which is presented to the modeller when they start to create a diagram in a managed package Add this content in the Reference Model Diagram Properties.
