Beginners guide to Enterprise Architect software
Our advice for new EA modellers
The idea of collecting knowledge and organising knowledge into some kind of structured tool continues to grow. Not as fast as some of us would like, but it means there is still a steady stream of new modellers. Those of use who have been doing this work for a while have a duty to make sure these new modellers don’t make the same mistakes that we did. That would be pointless. They need to make new mistakes of their own, that they can share with us.
So here are a few short articles on this theme – advice to new modellers.
Getting started with any structured modelling tool isn’t just about mastering how the tool works, and drawing groovy diagrams. If that’s all you do, it’s probably best to go back to Visio – you’re not going to make your project go faster, better or cheaper.
And that’s what it’s all about. If you can’t improve at least one of these three, don’t expect the rest of your organisation to care about what you’re doing.
